What Range is
Range puts a memecoin you already hold to work. You pick a price band you expect the coin to trade inside, and your coins sit in that band on Meteora, Solana's biggest liquidity venue. Every trade that crosses your band pays you a small fee.
It is non-custodial. Your coins stay in your wallet or in a position only your wallet can touch. Range never holds your funds and cannot move them.
How a range works
A range is a price band. Inside it your coins are used to fill other people's trades, and each of those trades pays you a fee. As the price moves through the band you sell a little on the way up and buy a little on the way down, so you dollar-cost average the whole way across.
- Up: you hold the coin and sell it gradually as the price rises through the band.
- Down: you hold SOL and buy the coin gradually as the price falls through the band.
- Neutral: a mix of both, sitting evenly across the band. Best when the coin chops sideways.
Tighter ranges earn more per dollar but leave the band sooner. Wider ranges earn less per dollar but stay active longer. Once the price leaves your band, fees stop until it comes back or you re-center. Nothing is sold or liquidated.
Which coins
Verified coins, and community coins with real holders and real trading, however new. A coin needs a coin/SOL pool on Meteora with enough in it to be worth using. Coins flagged as scams are locked, and a locked coin can still be withdrawn from, just not opened.
Search shows market cap, how much is in the pool, and the fee APR the pool has been paying. Your watchlist is saved to your account, so it follows you across devices.
Opening a range
Put in SOL, USDC or the coin. If the range needs a different mix, Range swaps part of it for you through Jupiter first. A swap that would move the coin's price more than a few percent on its own is refused before signing; put in less or pick a coin with a bigger pool.
The open takes one transaction for a normal range. A wide range needs more: the position is created, saved to your portfolio, then filled in a few steps. Each fill is built right before you sign it, against the price at that moment, and if the price moves while you are signing it is rebuilt and tried again. If a fill still fails, your range is saved with what landed and a "Fill the rest" button finishes it whenever you like.
Opening a range keeps a little SOL back: a deposit Solana holds while your range is open (about 0.04 SOL for a standard range, more for wider ones), which you get back when you close, plus about 0.01 SOL that stays in your wallet to pay network fees. Fees themselves are usually under 0.01 SOL per range.
What it costs
- 20% of the fees your range earns, taken when you claim. You keep 80%. Nothing is charged on your deposit, and nothing while you wait.
- 1% on swaps made through the app, taken on the SOL or USDC side of the trade.
- Network fees and rent go to Solana, not to Range. Rent is refunded when a position closes.
The platform's share of a claim is taken in SOL first whenever the claim includes enough SOL, so you keep as much of the coin as possible.
Referrals
Share your link from the portfolio page, or a friend can type your code in Settings before their first range. A friend who signs up through it pays 10% less in platform fees forever. You receive 25% of every platform fee they pay and 10% of every point they earn. On $1,000 of fees your friend earns, the platform fee is $180 after their discount, and $45 of that is yours.
Your share lands on a balance on the referral page, in SOL. Once it reaches $5, tap Claim and it is sent to your wallet. One claim pays up to 1 SOL; a bigger balance takes another tap. If the payout wallet is topping up, the page says so and the rest waits safely.
Claiming and withdrawing
Fees build up inside the position. Claim them any time, or claim everything at once from the portfolio. Withdraw closes the range and returns everything, fees included, to your wallet.
Either way you choose what you receive: SOL, USDC or the coin itself. Swaps happen right after the claim lands. If a swap fails, the claim still went through and what you earned sits in your wallet as it came; the position page offers to try the swap again. Your default cash-out asset is in Settings.
Reading your P&L
- Your position: what the coins inside the range are worth now.
- P&L: position plus every fee earned, minus what you put in, at the prices when you opened.
- vs just holding … (named after what went in, e.g. "vs just holding DACITY + SOL"): what the range has added over simply holding the coins that went into it, after the setup swap (half SOL and half coin for a range around the price, all coin for one above it, all SOL for one below). It is fees earned minus impermanent loss, so SOL or the coin moving in price does not change it on its own. It sits at $0 until the price reaches your range, and turns green once fees outrun the price swings.
- Fees earned: everything the range has made, claimed or not, after the platform's share.
Meteora's own P&L can differ: it counts fees before the platform share and values a top-up at the moment it sees it.
Points
A point is a dollar we got paid for. Nothing accrues for holding, so there is nothing to farm.
- 1 point per $1 of fees you claim. Counted from the chain when the claim lands; the cents carry over, so small claims add up exactly.
- 1 point per $100 swapped in the app, which is $1 of swap fee. Setup swaps and cash-outs both count.
- 10% of every point your friends earn, credited the moment they earn it.
Points have no cash value today. They are the record of who has been here and how much they have put to work.
Rank
Rank lists the top earners by fees earned, by return on capital, and by points, over a day, a week, a month or all time. Figures come from each position's recorded history, so the board never has to read the chain while you look at it. Names are chosen display names or a stable random handle; no email or wallet is ever shown.
Wallets and signing
Sign in with email, Google, X or Telegram and Range creates a wallet that only you control, through Privy. Or connect Phantom, Solflare, Jupiter Wallet or another Solana wallet. Either way, every transaction is signed by your wallet and only your wallet; the app builds them, you approve them, and the app sends them.
Some wallet extensions warn about a new site the first time it moves a coin into a program. Range only ever interacts with Meteora, Jupiter and Solana's own programs, and you can read every balance change in the wallet's preview before confirming.
Alerts
Turn on alerts to hear the moment a range leaves its band, and again when it comes back. Re-centering takes a few taps from the position page: the old range is closed, fees are claimed, and a new one is set around the current price.
Risks
Memecoins are volatile. If a coin drops hard or is rugged, your position drops with it, the same as holding. While the price is outside your band, fees stop and you hold whichever side the price left you on. Nothing on Range is financial advice, and you can lose money, including all of it.
